PINA - Q: Promotion of active inclusion paths in the high-end agricultural sector
Agricultural employment in Italy, as well as in the territories involved in the project (Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Lombardy and Friuli Venezia Giulia), is characterized by the prevalence of unstable, short-term and seasonal employment relationships. In this context, migrant workers, constitute a potential place of underpaid and unskilled labour, due to specific conditions of vulnerability (lack of knowledge of protection laws, unsuitable housing arrangement, distance from workplaces, etc.).
Therefore, the Pina-Q project mainly aims to promote conditions for regular work in the agricultural sector for citizens of Third Countries and, at the same time, to enhance “virtuous” forms of agriculture (social agriculture, organic agriculture) capable of revitalize the project’s rural areas, many of which are affected by severe depopulation. A multi-sector national network representative of the migrant management and inclusion system, the job orientation and training system and the agricultural system will have the task of contributing to the achievement of this general goal, using a common methodology and innovative prevention and contrast tools, as well as support for victims of labour exploitation and illegal hiring.
